Thousands of years of water currents and wind help carved very dramatic cliffs. This gorge is from the Little Three Gorge area. This stream narrows at a point where it makes a sharp turn.

The current of the Changjiang river is very rapid. Like the 黄河Huang He(Yellow River) it also collected a lot of silt and clay which gives it the yellow orange color of this part of the river.

The new houses and multi-storied buildings above the expected water level that will be raised by the dam.

I was told that the elusive monkeys are rare and lucky sights. They are the tiny orange spots on the photo.

The small rivers have armies of rocks. The boatman uses bamboo poles to push around them. The big rocks are usually eliminated with dynamites, which happen often in the Changjiang river.

The current can be torrential and violent.
