The tower is a square-based two-storey structure. What is unusual in its design is the double eave in the mid-section. The addition of the upper eave, which is supported by a series of gigantic 斗拱Dougongs ( Brackets ), appears to be an entirely aesthetic decision. The old streets were packed with stores and were vibrant with locals, unlike the old streets in Pingyao that were populated with tourists. |
